Keeping Laboratory Instruments in Service in Oman

How Mahut Technical Co. helps laboratories in Oman keep GC, HPLC, and other analytical instruments in reliable daily service and reduce unplanned downtime.

Analytical laboratories in Oman run on instruments that are expected to be ready at the start of the shift. When a chromatograph or a spectrometer stops, the delay is not only the repair. It is the sequence that did not run and the result that could not be released.

Mahut Technical Co., based in Muscat, maintains and repairs laboratory and analytical equipment for that reason. The work is corrective when a system has failed, and preventive when the laboratory wants fewer of those failures. Clients include research laboratories, quality-control facilities, environmental testing labs, energy-sector labs, and government laboratories. The company currently supports more than 200 active clients.

What “in service” means

An instrument that powers on is not automatically fit for the method. A pump that cannot hold pressure, a detector with a noisy baseline, or a gas supply sitting on an empty cylinder will waste a day even though the software still opens. Service is aimed at the function the method needs: stable flow or gas, a real injection, a column that is the one the method names, and a detector that can see the analyte.

Mahut’s technicians work across gas chromatography, HPLC and UHPLC, LC-MS, ICP and ICP-OES, and UV-Vis spectrophotometers. They have practical experience on Agilent and Waters systems. Mahut is an independent service company, not the manufacturer and not an authorized dealer.

How a laboratory should call

If the instrument is down, call +968 71130316 and state the model and the symptom in one sentence. A photo of the error line and of the last acceptable chromatogram shortens the diagnosis. If the need is a plan rather than a breakdown, email info@mahutqc.com or book a consultation and list the instruments and how often they run.

Routine checks for common HPLC and GC symptoms are published in Mahut’s knowledge base. Those notes stop at the point where a fitting, a gas leak, or a pump fault needs a technician. They are not a substitute for a visit when the safe checks do not restore the system.

Spare parts and the next breakdown

A large share of repeat calls are consumables: seals, frits, liners, septa, syringes, and lamps. Sourcing the part that matches the model matters more than sourcing a part quickly that only looks similar. Laboratories that already know which consumables age out on their methods can hold them under a preventive program instead of waiting on a shipment after the failure.

Mahut’s office is at Office 101, First Floor, Business Tower 1, Muscat Hills, Muscat. For a stopped instrument, use the phone. For a maintenance plan across several systems, book a consultation.
